The European Waterpark Association e.V. took the 20th anniversary of the EWA Awards as an opportunity to honour the Rulantica water world of Europa-Park as an exceptional project with the one-time only ‘EWA Jubilee Award 2022’. The award honours the entrepreneurial courage of the owner family, Mack, and recognition of the extraordinary and highly innovative power of the water park project.
Since opening in November 2019, Rulantica has set new industry standards as Europe’s largest completely themed indoor and outdoor water park, open all year round. The jury was particularly impressed that the concept was not simply based on proven successful concepts. Instead, the theme of this unique world of experience is inspired by a mystical story about the legendary island of Rulantica. “The realization of Rulantica is a milestone in the development of the European pool landscape,” says Markus Achleitner, President of the European Waterpark Association.
